BIEN EN SELLE POUR LA 38^E ÉDITION DU TOUR DE BEAUCE

Saint-Georges, le 27 mai 2026 – Pour une 38e fois, le Tour de Beauce offrira à des athlètes de premier plan l’occasion de poursuivre leur développement vers les plus hauts échelons de l’élite mondiale. Le Tour de Beauce représente un incroyable tremplin et le Canadien Derek Gee en est la plus belle preuve actuellement avec une 5e place au classement général du Giro d’Italie. Rappelons qu’avant la pandémie, le cycliste d’Ottawa a pris part à trois éditions du Tour de Beauce, en plus d’avoir été couronné Champion canadien à St-Georges en 2025.

Président du conseil d’administration, M.André Tremblay, s’est dit fier que l’organisation se maintienne comme incontournable du circuit America Tour de l’UCI, grâce à une équipe solide et bien rodée, dévouée à tenir chez nous la plus grande course professionnelle par étapes au Canada.  M.Tremblay souhaite également remercier les fidèles partenaires du Tour, qui contribuent à cette réussite par leur support indéfectible. À ce titre, six (6) partenaires majeurs de longue date seront à nouveau bien visibles au sein du peloton sur les maillots officiels du Tour soit : Le maillot jaune Ville de Saint-Georges (meneur au cumulatif), le maillot blanc Ville de Québec (meneur des sprints intermédiaires), le maillot à pois Desjardins (meilleur grimpeur) et le maillot rouge Le Georgesville (meilleur jeune). Les gouvernements du Canada et du Québec, bien en vue quant à eux sur l’ensemble des maillots distinctifs, complètent ce groupe placé aux avant-postes, sans lesquels l’événement ne pourrait avoir lieu.

L’organisation est aussi très heureuse du support renouvelé de trois (3) autres partenaires de premier plan soit : TVA, Le Journal de Québec et Hyundai Beauce. Les fournisseurs officiels sont quant à eux indissociables du succès de chaque édition du Tour. Il s’agit de Thule, Champion System, NousTV/Cogeco, Couture et Méchoui Beauce Boeuf. S’ajoute finalement l’apport essentiel de partenaires publics et médiatiques tels la Municipalité de Lac-Mégantic, la Municipalité de Saint-Odilon, le Parc National du Mont-Mégantic, la Municipalité de Saint-Côme, la MRC Beauce-Sartigan, Impression GP, EnBeauce.com, Mix 99.7 et CoolFM 103.5.

Parcours 2026

La 38^e édition du Tour de Beauce offrira à nouveau aux athlètes un parcours des plus exigeant, totalisant quelque 725 kilomètres.

Étape 1 Le Georgesville: Les premiers coups de pédale de cette 38^e édition se donneront sur un tracé ajouté au Tour en 2024, soit une boucle de 190km. L’arrivée et départ se fera pour une première fois de St-Côme Linière.  Cette mise en jambes permettra aux équipes de bien s’étudier et peut-être tenter de causer les premières surprises de la compétition. La longue et éprouvante virée amènera les athlètes sur les magnifiques routes de Beauce-Sartigan, du Granit et de la Haute-Beauce.

Étape 2: Plus courte mais non moins ardue, cette étape présentée dans le secteur des Etchemins, amènera les coureurs jusque du côté nord du Massif du Sud et dans les escarpements sinueux et bossus de Dorchester. Les grimpeurs seront bien servis par ce parcours de 164 km des plus accidenté dont le départ et l’arrivée s’effectueront au cœur du bucolique village de Saint-Odilon-de-Cranbourne.

Étape 3 Desjardins : Étape mythique s’il en est une, ce parcours de 169 km fera à nouveau voir des étoiles aux athlètes, avec en guise de finale, l’ascension tant redoutée du Mont-Mégantic, la plus haute route pavée du Québec. Le tracé de cette étape amènera les coureurs jusqu’à la municipalité de Bury, au cœur du Haut-Saint-François en Estrie et le lancement de cette folle chevauchée sera à nouveau donné au centre-ville de la municipalité de Lac-Mégantic. 

Étape 4 Ville de Québec : Depuis plus de trente ans maintenant, le Tour de Beauce tient au moins une étape dans la Ville de Québec. Depuis quelques années, la course dans la Ville de  Québec prenait la forme d'un criterium. En 2026, en raison des travaux préparatoires à la construction du tramway, nous avons dû, en collaboration avec le bureau des Grands Événements de la Ville, relocaliser notre événement. 

L’étape sera donc disputée sous la forme d’un contre-la-montre individuel, avec une importante portion du parcours sur le boulevard Champlain et une spectaculaire arrivée en montée dans la côte de Sillery. Cette épreuve promet d’être déterminante sur le plan sportif, tout en offrant un décor exceptionnel.

Étape 5 Ville de Saint-Georges : Autre étape signature du Tour de Beauce, le circuit urbain de clôture constitue une valeur sûre ayant acquis une indéniable notoriété au sein du peloton de l’America Tour. Il y a fort à parier que rien ne sera joué au départ de cette dernière étape longue de 132 km qui promet d’être chaudement disputée. À nouveau cette année, le site de départ/arrivée se situera aux abords de l’usine Venture au cœur du centre-ville de Saint-Georges. À noter qu’un tour a été ajouté cette année pour augmenter la sélection.

21 équipes, basées dans 7 pays différents

Directeur général du Tour, Francis Rancourt s’est dit à nouveau heureux de la forte participation, alors qu’un total de 21 équipes s’alignera au départ cette année. M. Rancourt prévoit notamment de vives rivalités entre les formations canadiennes, américaines et néo-zélandaise. Ils devront cependant contenir l’équipe colombienne Medellin EPM, de retour avec le gagnant 2025, Diego Camargo.

Nul doute que l’équipe américaine Project Echelon Racing souhaitera poursuivre ses succès passés en Beauce, comptant notamment sur la présence de Laurent Gervais, 5^e au Tour de Beauce 2023. Il faudra aussi garder à l’œil l’équipe de la Nouvelle-Zélande Whoosh qui a beaucoup animé la course dans les dernières éditions.

READY FOR THE 38TH EDITION OF THE TOUR DE BEAUCE

Saint-Georges, May 27, 2026 – The professional road cycling season is well underway, with the Giro d’Italia entering its final week. After 16 stages, Canadian Derek Gee is in a strong position, holding 5th place overall. Let us remember that before the pandemic, the Ottawa cyclist participated in three editions of the Tour de Beauce during his early years as a senior, in addition to being crowned Canadian Champion in Saint-Georges in 2025. For the 38th time, the Tour de Beauce will offer top athletes like Derek the opportunity to compete against emerging talents in international cycling and continue their development toward the highest levels of the world elite.

Chairman of the Board, Mr. André Tremblay, expressed his pride that the organization remains a key player in the UCI America Tour circuit, thanks to a strong and well-oiled team dedicated to hosting the biggest professional stage race in Canada. Mr. Tremblay also wishes to thank the Tour's loyal partners, who contribute to this success through their unwavering support. In this regard, six (6) major long-standing partners will once again be prominently featured in the peloton on the official Tour jerseys: the City of Saint-Georges yellow jersey (overall leader), the City of Quebec white jersey (intermediate sprint leader), the Desjardins polka dot jersey (best climber), and the Le Georgesville red jersey (best young rider). The governments of Canada and Quebec, prominently displayed on all the distinctive jerseys, complete this group of key partners, without whom the event could not take place.

The organization is also very pleased with the renewed support of three (3) other key partners: TVA, Le Journal de Québec, and Hyundai Beauce. 2026 Course

The 38th edition of the Tour de Beauce will once again offer athletes a highly demanding course, totaling approximately 725 kilometers.

Stage 1 The Georgesville: The first pedal strokes of this 38th edition will be on a course added to the Tour in 2024, a 190km loop. For the first time, the start and finish will be in St-Côme Linière. This warm-up will allow the teams to assess each other and perhaps try to pull off the first surprises of the competition. The long and challenging ride will take the athletes along the magnificent roads of Beauce-Sartigan, Granit, and Haute-Beauce.

Stage 2: Shorter but no less arduous, this stage, presented in the Etchemins region, will take the riders to the north side of the Massif du Sud and into the winding, hilly slopes of Dorchester. Climbers will be well served by this very rugged 164km course, which starts and finishes in the heart of the bucolic village of Saint-Odilon-de-Cranbourne.

Stage 3 Desjardins: A truly legendary stage, this 169 km route will once again dazzle the athletes, culminating in the dreaded ascent of Mont-Mégantic, Quebec's highest paved road. The route will take the riders to the municipality of Bury, in the heart of the Haut-Saint-François region of the Eastern Townships, and the start of this epic ride will once again be in downtown Lac-Mégantic.

Stage 4 Quebec City: For over thirty years, the Tour de Beauce has held at least one stage in Quebec City. For the past few years, the race in Quebec City has taken the form of a criterium. In 2026, due to preparatory work for the tramway construction, we had to relocate our event in collaboration with the City's Major Events Office. The stage will therefore be contested as an individual time trial, with a significant portion of the course on Champlain Boulevard and a spectacular uphill finish on the Côte de Sillery. This event promises to be decisive from a sporting perspective, while also offering an exceptional setting.

Stage 5, City of Saint-Georges: Another signature stage of the Tour de Beauce, the closing urban circuit is a sure bet, having gained undeniable renown within the America's Tour peloton. It's a safe bet that nothing will be decided at the start of this final 132 km stage, which promises to be fiercely contested. Once again this year, the start/finish area will be located near the Venture factory in the heart of downtown Saint-Georges. Note that an extra lap has been added this year to increase the competition.

21 teams, based in 7 different countries

Tour CE0 Francis Rancourt expressed his satisfaction with the strong participation, with a total of 21 teams lining up at the start this year. Mr. Rancourt anticipates fierce rivalries between the Canadian, American, and New Zealand teams, but they will have to contend with the Colombian team Medellin EPM, returning with 2025 winner Diego Camargo. The American team Project Echelon Racing will undoubtedly be looking to continue its past successes in Beauce, especially with Laurent Gervais, 5th in the 2023 Tour de Beauce, in attendance. The New Zealand team Whoosh, which has been a prominent feature of the race in recent editions, will also be one to watch.
